What if you were stuck, for 3 days, inside a massive gym with 10,000 athletes and 15,000 fans? You would try to gain a deeper understanding of life of course.
Anyone involved in a sport or hobby that consists of growth and performance has a unique opportunity to practice life. There are highs and lows, struggles and successes, victories and defeats, and you get to practice your response to all of it. The more you advance in your passion the more you learn that managing your mind is the key to success. You learn that commitment extends beyond what you feel like doing. You learn that circumstances don't cause your feelings ...your thoughts about those circumstances do. And you learn that the best tool get yourself out of a negative head space is to be of service to someone else.
Whitney and I had the chance to observers on the sideline while thousands of young ladies battled their way through these tough lessons. We got to see some rise to the occasion and some you fell short, but ALL of them notching their the belts with the experiences that form our character. When you can see the opportunity in a situation like that, you can't help but get inspired.
